Personal History		Vila was born on Bajor during the period of rapid growth they had during the late 23rd century. Her father (Esu) was a fighter in the Militia, and her mother (Eena) was a teacher. Her childhood was fairly normal; she went to school, where she played sports, had friends, and was a good student. She was always the helper amongst her friends-she knew at an early age that she wanted to be a doctor or counselor because she enjoyed making sure other people were OK. She heard about the Starfleet Academy when she went to a career-day event hosted by the Federation of Planets for all children that her mother's school was a part of. She discovered that that was what she wanted to do with her life and the perfect way to help others. She attended the Starfleet Academy the first year it allowed Bajorans, and graduated with a degree in Medicine, because she wanted to help others how she was helped, and to see the rest of the Universe. While at the academy, she met a man, Hihjal Tors, a Trill. They dated for the first two years before they broke up. After that, she dated a woman, Dulo Tek, a Romulan. They dated until her first posting. Finally, Vila met and married a Terran man, Ben Johnson, a fellow scientist on her first posting, SB8, and they were married for ten years before they divorced. They had one child, a son, Garfield, who is currently attending the Academy in the Engineering Corps. Some things have happened in her past that make her a bit unable to be "open" with people-her initial trauma from the Occupation, then her contentious divorce, and finally, the death of a colleague she was blamed for. She went with an away team to rescue some hostages on Magna Roma, and were attacked by cultists. She was beaten, and nearly died, but her friend and colleague, Lt. Povis, was phased and died. She was blamed because it was believed that her rash action of drawing her phaser on the cult leader led to the attack (she maintains it was an ambush). Vila is currently single, is open to romance but is currently not looking hard.
